Donya Quixote Blogs about Politics for the 1st time in History

This post is gooone.

I was… *sigh* carried away by emotions when I wrote it.

So there.

Sorry, you missed it.

Meow! Get a life!

[BGmusic: nothing besides my LSS - Baby One More Time, anyone?]

Quote for the day:

“On the Internet, nobody knows you’re a dog.”

– Peter Steiner, a cartoon in The New Yorker

WARNING: Dorky post ahead.

The fact that I spend way too much time on the internet is no secret. And as I get even more hooked on facebook, I can say that the chances of redemption are getting more and more obscure by the minute. I understand that a lot of you [LOSERS *ahem* *cough* *cough*] are still not cool and in the wonderful world of facebook, so to just to give you a clue, it revolves around adding applications [mini-games, etc.] to your profile.

For this post, I am going to introduce you to my latest addiction, Human Pets.

In this app, you put yourself “in the market” as a “pet” [I'm a platypus because the platypus is so me], and ideally, get people to “buy” you and “take care” of you.

Sounds stupid, no?

I certainly thought so. But I added the app because it seemed so bizarre. I like bizarre.

Ayoko Pang Pumasok!!!

[BGmusic: my brother messing around with his guitar.]

Quote for the day:

“Falling, yes I am falling, and she keeps calling me back again.”

I’ve Just Seen A Face, The Beatles

I’m very, very sorry for disappearing from my blog and not updating. It’s not that I have had nothing to blog about – in fact, I’ve had tons of I-have-to-blog-about-this moments – it’s just that I’ve been hooked on Facebook’s freaking Warbook app [ROAR!]. Right now, I’m trying to distance myself from the evil, evil thing, so here I am.

Anyway, because I was so deep in denial ["NO WAY! SEM BREAK CAN'T BE ENDING!"], here I am, making the expected ayoko-pang-pumasok post in a not-so-expected time – more than a week after the first day of class. Talk about late reg. [FYI: late reg ako this sem, as usual - this means I finished enrolling last Friday, while some of my friends (the lucky ones) finished last last Monday.]

  • My schedule is messed up and freaking stupid, as usual. What can I say, UP’s registration system loves me. All my classes start at 8:30, which means that I have to wake up at 6:30 EVERY day, and I have a two-and-a-half hour break on Mondays and Thursdays and a three hour break on Tuesdays and Fridays. What I’m going to do with all that time, I do not know… I’ll figure something out. Find somewhere to bum around, other than the Ecosoc tambayan [because I know I'm going to get sick of Ecosoc later in the sem - don't get me wrong, I love my org] and the CCC tambayan at Vinzon’s [because it gets cold there nowadays]. And it’s sad, I don’t have anyone to bum around with me, so it looks like I’m going to be perfecting my loner skills. Looking on the bright side, it looks like I can maybe watch a movie in between classes at SM – with or without a companion. Booyah to that.
  • I have two economics subjects, and four electives. It’s nice to get away from the School of Economics, because I guess it’s true that absence makes the heart grow fonder – when I go to the econ building, I’m all, “awwww this is mah turf yo!” [...Aaaand that was so wrong.]
  • None of my classmates are crushable. What happened to the likes of my futsal crush, huh? Where is everybody? Have no-one to sing “I’ve Just Seen a Face” to. So for inspiration, I guess I’ll have to actually try to find something interesting about my classes. Which isn’t that hard, really. My classes have been pretty fun so far.
  • In my Creative Writing for Young Adults class, there are only six of us. Coolness. We’re going to be meeting at my prof’s office, so it’s going to be all intimate and cozy. And our reading list is freaking crazy, I can’t believe I’m actually getting a grade for reading Bridge to Terabithia, The Golden Compass, and Coraline, to name a few.
  • I have Japan Studies 100, which I enlisted for out of desperation, and is surprisingly relevant to me, as a Filipino [yuck, ano ito, CWTS1 sa econ?]. Interesting indeedily-doo.

Tangent kwento: for my Japan Studies class, we were required to watch this film at the UPFI about North Koreans abducting Japanese nationals for espionage purposes… Anyway, when former Japanese Prime Minister Koizumi appeared on screen, it bothered me because he looked strangely familiar [besides the fact that he was the Japanese Prime Minister and of course I've seen him before], but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Then, it hit me.

[Para may konting suspense kunyari.]

Paderanga, baby. Cayetano Paderanga Jr. [FYI: he was on the monetary board (google him!), and he teaches at my college.]

Uncanny resemblance. No wonder I suddenly found Koizumi… hot. Teehee.

End tangent kwento.

  • Still haven’t had a meeting for my CL100 [Intro to Comparative Literature] class and my Journ152 [Public Relations] class.
  • Navarro [she's a legend in the School of Economics - has been teaching Econ131 for, like, a quarter of a century] is so cool. Econometrics is so cool. But I know I’m going to be crying about it come exam time.

Anyway, this is obviously just an update on my school life. Realized I hardly ever blog about school, and I guess it’s for a good reason – who the heck likes reading about school? I know I don’t. So I apologize for boring you out of your minds, and let’s all cross our fingers and hope that I’ll be blogging about something cool soon. [You've got to admit though, the whole Paderanga-Koizumi thing was pretty cool.]

The Itchy and Scratchy Show

[BGmusic: You Belong To Me by Ella Fitzgerald]

Quote for the Day:

It’s Guy Fawkes day!

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t’was his intent
To blow up King and Parli’ment.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England’s overthrow;
By God’s providence he was catch’d
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, let the bells ring.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!

I’m allergic to a lot of things.

I don’t usually pay attention to my allergies. Because I rarely react.

However, because of recent overexposure to tomatoes [one of my many allergens; I've been eating a lot of pasta lately], I’ve become especially sensitive, and my face has been breaking out in rashes for… two weeks now. So if you’ve been wondering why my skin’s all gross and flaking, no it’s not vitamin C deficiency, those are the manifestations of my wonderful, wonderful allergies.

Anyway, in my house we drink apple juice and orange juice. Not the powdered kind, but the squeezed and crushed kind. One day, my mother remembered that I might be allergic to oranges. Or was it apples? I thought it was apples.

Okay, not really deadly, I do tend to exaggerate sometimes.

I wasn’t sure which I was allergic to, and I didn’t want to aggravate my allergies so I’ve been living on water for a while.

But I am not a water drinker; water is sooo boring! I wanted FLAVOR! I wanted SUGAAAAR! HULK MUST HAVE SUGARRRR! So, awhile ago I dug through my mother’s files, looking for my medical file, and [hurrah!] I found it! My allergy test from way back when/2002!
