Remember

[BGmusic: Fascination by Alphabeat]

Quote for the day:

“The past is beautiful because one never fully realizes an emotion at the time.  It expands later, and thus we don’t have complete emotions about the present, only about the past.  That is why we dwell on the past.”

- Virginia Woolf

Man. Nothing makes sense right now.

But it will.  Hooray for that. ^_^

[I love that thing John does with his guitar at 1:37. And George at 3:20. Awesome.]

TRUTH THURSDAYS: I Wish…

[BGmusic: Thinking Out Loud by Emiliana Torrini]

Quote for the day:

“You should be pleased, that’s direct transfer of learning.”

- Sir Juanico of Geog105 [Economic Geography],

people sitting in the front row

*kwento engaged*

So awhile ago, I was hanging out at one of my orgs’ tambayans, waiting for 12:45 to come, when my friend turned to talk to me and told me that someone asked her if she knew me.

I know what you’re thinking: whoa someone asked about you, big deal.  I know, it’s not.  Hello. But if she felt the need to share that with me I knew that it must have been more than just that. So naturally, I pried. Ahem.

She went on to say that *the-person-who-asked* had a friend who courted me and… erm… to put it bluntly, crashed and burned.

WHOA! Juicy! But wait there’s more!

Then *the-person-who-asked* asked my friend, “Maganda ba siya?”

I Missed You.

Last night, I dreamt of my graduation.

It was a disaster.

See, all the girls were supposed to be wearing the same thing. I had the right skirt, but for some reason I didn’t get the top.  Dunno why, I just remember something about the people organizing the event being incompetent or something.

So there I was crying in my changing room [yes I had my own changing room], in my underwear, screaming, “I can’t go out like this! I caaaaan’t!” Then I engaged in heated word battle with the guy in charge of my wardrobe, going on about how I paid the graduation fees early and how it didn’t make sense that I didn’t have my clothes etc. atbp. usw…

Then my crush walks in.

He was dressed in a red long-sleeved shirt and a Shohoku[?] basketball jersey. [Yes, I know, he was dressed like a 1995 Backstreet Boy.] And all he said was, “Oh, hi there.” Then he gave me a high five and left. [Which is actually what he would probably do in real life, except he'd probably laugh first if he walked in on me changing. Haha how sad my life.]

I woke up.

Then I thought, “Man, that was weird… I gotta blog it.”

So.

Here I am again.

*awkward silence*

I’m sorry for leaving you. T_T

[BGmusic: Please Forgive Me - Bryan Adams]

Please forgive me, I can’t stop loving you.

JOKE

[BGmusic: Still Alive by Portal]

Quote for the Day:

“Meaningless! Meaningless! Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.”

- King Solomon

Yeah, my life is one big joke. At least it’s a pretty funny one, and not just a pathetic awkward-silence-inducing one. Or so I think. It’s kind of hard to say, when you’re in the middle of it all.

Let me elaborate.

School

Get this, I’m enrolled for only 3 units this summer. That’s just one subject. The summer load’s supposed to be light, but not that light!

I was supposed to dorm this summer so I wouldn’t have to go through the hassle of commuting in the summer heat every day, but it’s just not worth it [meaning not worth having to eat dorm food] with only 3 units. Dang it. And I’ve already paid the [non-reimbursable] reservation fee. Dang it. I was really looking forward to going back to the dorm as well.

Why did I get only 3 units? Because of PI100. The Rizal class. Continue reading ‘JOKE’

Going. Going. Gone.

[BGmusic: the sweet, sweet song of my inkjet printer.]

Quote for the day:

“Summertime, and the living is easy.”

– the Gershwins

As I am writing this, I am printing a 48-paged story, a product of caffeine, sleepless nights, and tears.

And no, I will not proof-read it again, lest I end up deleting huge chunks of my work.

As the Beatles sang, let it be.

I’m done!

This summer is going to be awesome.

Will be leaving in two hours, and will be back on the seventh. All riiiiiight.

[BGmusic: I See Love by Third Day (feat. Steven Curtis Chapman & MercyMe). Click to listen & download, it's great. ^_^]

Quote for the day:

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

– John 15:13 [ASV]

“There is a stage in a child’s life at which it cannot separate the religious from the merely festal character of Christmas or Easter.

I have been told of a very small and very devout boy who was heard murmuring to himself on Easter morning a poem of his own composition which began ‘Chocolate eggs and Jesus risen.’

This seems to me, for his age, both admirable poetry and admirable piety.

But of course the time will soon come when such a child can no longer effortlessly and spontaneously enjoy that unity.

He will become able to distinguish the spiritual from the ritual and festal aspect of Easter; chocolate eggs will no longer seem sacramental.

And once he has distinguished he must put one or the other first.

If he puts the spiritual first he can still taste something of Easter in the chocolate eggs; if he puts the eggs first they will soon be no more than any other sweetmeat.

They will have taken on an independent, and therefore a soon withering, life.”

- C. S. Lewis

Hi, reader!

I don’t know if the resurrection means anything to you.

But I do hope it does.

And I hope it continues meaning something to you even after the Easter holidays.

Hope it’s not just a once a year thing.

Hope it’s more than just another ritual. More than just religion.

Hope you understand your beliefs, and if you don’t, I hope you dare to question them, and actually make an effort to find the answers. The right answers.

The truth.

Most of all, I hope that even though you’ve heard it a bajillion times in church, you know that God loves you, because he does.

Very, very much.

Anyway…

Have a Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Here’s to the most beautiful love story in the history of the world.

The Boy Next Door

[BGmusic: When the Lights Burn Out by Chris Cendana]

Quote for the Day:

- Girls With Slingshots by Danielle Corsetto

Yuck I’m getting kilig from a webcomic. Spoiler [sorry]: Hazel and Zach finally got together. Yiiiiiiiiiiii!

Anyway. About the title. The boy next door doesn’t actually live next door, but upstairs. We met one day outside my doorway…

*enter hazy glow-effect lighting and nostalgic music*

I was tying my shoelaces when a boy from upstairs came down the stairs and saw me. He looked like he was also about to go to school, but he stopped at his tracks and started talking to me. Continue reading ‘The Boy Next Door’

Love Letters Straight from My <3

[BGmusic: Chasing Pavements by Adele]

Quote of the day:

“He’s not exactly the fastest brick in the wall.”

– My wonderful sister and her equally wonderful idioms.

I know it’s not Valentine’s anymore, but I’m going to make my obligatory V-Day / breaking-the-hiatus post now, if you don’t mind.

Just so you know, it’s 3:38AM and I’m basically doing an all-nighter. [I'm also blogging because I need to wake up - my eyelids are getting REAL heavy.] I have this major project due later, and I’m not quite sure how I’m going to get around it.

MONKEY BUTT LOVE!

Wee.

Anyhoo, enough with the quick updates. Onto the real thing.

Ahem ahem.

I was expecting this year’s Valentine’s Day to be just like any other day, and in a way, it was.

But it was a good day, all sunshine and blue skies. Okay, actually it was gray skies and cold wind, but believe me, it was a good day.

Until night fell. And then…

UP Fair

There I was, trying my best to have fun, to ignore the fact that I had two papers due the following day [LATER! HOORAY!], to block out that high-pitched whiny voice in my head. [It was yelling something that went a little like this: "HOY BABAE UMUWI KA NA!"] Then, Rivermaya went on stage with their n00b vocalist Jason [who was pretty cute by the way, and has more than a little potential to be a great rockstar]. They performed Awit ng Kabataan and this new song from their new album.

Then they threw in 214.

Potek.
